Me and my ex-boyfriend has been dating for five years. He has cheated on me more than once. I was pregnant i found out he was cheating on me with a little girl that’s three years younger than him and one of his family member friends that already had a baby. So i left him but shortly after the baby was born he said he wanted to be a family and he wanted me to move back home with him so i did, we started being a couple again and every thing went fine for a couple of months.
Then all of a sudden he decides to start going out after work which is 1am and he don’t come in till 6am. and on the days he don’t have work he comes in 12am-3am so i felt like he was cheating so i broke up with him to put on an act for 4days i leave. and i came back home to me and our sons stuff packed up and he knew we had no where to live but he still chose not only to pack my stuff but our sons too, am thinking to myself i can see him being mad at me but to put our son out too but am like its fine i leave the stuff where its at and i ask him why did you move our stuff out the room he says i was cleaning to room out. i say ok so i leave the stuff where its at about three days go past and he never moved the stuff back in
As always he comes in late at 12 or 1 am and we go stright to sleep and a girl texts his phone while he is sleeping and seeling if he made it in and i wake him up to ask about it he says its for his friend so i say ok and walk way and then when i come back in the room i see that he texted her back saying i thought u where sleep. i was so upset then i fould out that he took her to a 6star resturant that night where he never took me that made me mad so i decided to move out of state because i had nowhere else to go to better myself for our son. and now a mouth later hes telling me he wants to work everything out and he wants his family back our son is 8mounths and i don’t want to make him miss out on our son and i do miss my ex and love him but i don’t want to get hurt again and i dont want my so to ever get hurt what should i do?

I love that tag line, its something we all do, most days in the office can have you doing a lot of both the options. It is very possible to do a lot of very little in the course of a days work. Two Sundays in which I had to part with Six rounds worth of mulla thanks to the watchful eye of a prowling usher, and the accompaniment of some Junior Pastor proclaiming doom for those of us who did not dig deeper into our pockets. Two Sundays in which I watched the rest of humanity feeling things I could not feel, speaking languages I could not understand and ranting ‘Yes!’ and ‘Jesus!’ over and over so many times I can still hear them in my sleep. It was torture.
I made a futile attempt at reconnecting with my Spiritual side. I called up my Spiritual Advisor from back back in the day (funny I still had his number) and we had a lengthy chat. He shared the same sentiments he had back back in the day about sacraments, frequent mass, chastity and of course marrying a Catholic girl.

The first time I ran away was after a particularly harrowing shopping trip with my sons. They were toddlers and I still believed them to only be misguided angels at times. We get to Nakumatt and lo and behold they’ve introduced cute shopping carts with the cars on the front. Dilemma moment: who will sit in the cart, who will sit in the car? I don’t expect the boys to decide so I do. I reach out for a regular cart and then all hell breaks loose. The angels drop to the floor and start screaming. I try picking them up, tell them to be quiet. More screams. By now people are staring and against all odds, I am turning red with embarrassment. I grab each hand and start dragging them out. They are still kicking, screaming and I’m beginning to feel like a criminal. Two security guards approach and choking back tears, I explain that I am not a kidnapper and ask them to help me. Like knights in shining armors they grab one each and I shakily lead them to the car. It takes me over 15 minutes to compose myself and start the car. Having sensed my rage, by now the boys are quiet and actually looking nervous. I drive in steely silence and when we get home I ask the nanny to follow me out to the car. Concerned she asks what’s going on and as I explain I hand them over and drive off to the refuge that only childless friends can offer. I finally go back home late knowing they will be asleep. Phew.
Rewind the clock and ask yourself, what if your first crush was the person you were meant to spend the rest of your life with. That one moment of contact is the defining moment of eternity, would you really want to actually spend the rest of your life with them? It is a grand feeling those 5 seconds of staring and analyzing, though it does not count for eternity. I have a problem with love at first sight, I don’t believe it exists. How do you meet a person, less than half an hour later you are in love? Not in this world. No way!! Unless you are superhuman and you have already taken a journey through this other persons world and know everything about them.
If your about my age you’ll remember the 1986 movie ‘About last night” (yeah 1986) starring 80’s brat packers Demi Moore and Rob Lowe. A romance that started with a one night stand. Sigh.
How easy is it to make friends at the work place? Some surveys even say that the work place is one place easy enough to find that special some one that you will spend the rest of your life with. A myth you may say, but this makes sense, we spend almost 60% of our weekdays (some even more) interacting with work colleagues.
I have this question that has been floating in my mind for a while now. At what point in a man’s life does he decide that he cannot use condoms any more with his girlfriend? (Note I said girlfriend not wife). I have heard this with most of my friends and am left to wonder how a man decides to tell his girlfriend that he does not feel like wearing a condom. There is no particular reason for him saying this he just does not want. I am an advocate for use protection when playing bedroom games but this has baffled me and am speechless and have no conclusive analysis on it. 
Well I soon found out. Since my marriage ended 6 years ago I have moved 7 times. And it’s been quite the journey.
Lucky for me i have never really been a big spender when it comes to buying material things. I am however a spender when it comes to travelling and to wanting nice new exhillarating experiences. My personal favorite is that i love to take at least one international vacation a year, and go visit friends and family in the diaspora or elsewhere, plus i then take a few local trips. Travel isn’t cheap, why lie neither is it fun when you are broke. You should never let money rule your life because some day you may end up even compromising your morals just for some fast cash.
Its important to save. For emergencies, for your future, to buy a car, to placce a deposit on something, to travel, etc Saving allows you to be prepared for your future, and helps you when you perhaps mistakenly lose your job or get a death, illness or marriage in your family. Loans should only be taken to invest in an asset that will bring you an income. The reason for saving is so that you will not have to live in debt. People say they dont have enough money to save but thats a lie, everyone can save if they make it a priority just the same way you pay your bills, you should save.
‘When I grow up I want to conquer the world, I’ve got to have my own job, my own car, and my own crib. I’ve got to be my own woman, totally independent.’ A group of young girls at a teenage workshop made these strong statements. It exhilarated me to see the determination that these young women had. Despite my support for their enthusiasm at living fruitful lives, it got my mind wondering of the older generation. Women who have stood up and taken a chance at conquering the world.
Kay, now a manager of her own business says that it is not easy to face an insecure husband, especially one threatened by your ambitions.”It was tough knowing that my husband was not being supportive but I chose to go ahead and make my dream come true. “He felt that with my success I would be no longer reachable, that I would not have time for him and most especially that I would get to interact with a lot of men in my line of work.” She says. Despite her efforts to assure him of her sincerity, he seemed relentless. Kay made a decision not to mention it to him again and kept building her ideas secretly. And ten years now, she is happy and successful but unfortunately, her marriage isn’t.

Well, you are probably reading this post asking ‘what does weight have to do with my job?’ The reality is, that weight has everything to do with your job. Lets be very frank most times we really do not pay much attention to our health unless we fall ill and our doctor says so or our clothes become are too tight for comfort and soon can’t zip up anymore.
Going into business is sometimes a daunting project, even at the best of times. You are leaving all that’s familiar…and laid back – the monthly pay check, hours spent making decisions (whose overall effect seemed like somebody else’s business and not yours, in case of any losses), stopping in on friends for that Marketing pitch, lazy Fridays where some take off early from work under the guise of out-of-office business deals etc.
We have the widest selection of careers to pick from…ladies who are ‘tuk tuk‘ drivers, matatu conductors (makangas), mechanics to reckon with, stay at home dads (if that can be called a profession), female caddies, male nannies etc. The list is endless…and apparently, it can all start from a simple thing as a Hobby- that activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure, typically done during one’s leisure time. How harmless can that be? Let me just pick one thing that I enjoy off the top of my head and see how to go about making it profitable, isn’t that right?
The other day, I was watching KTN’s Case files and I couldn’t help shedding tears. This particular story was about a young girl (very young I might add) who killed her baby so that she could have time to care of her ailing father. Though I don’t believe that’s the reason she did it, I feel her pain. She was clearly a child when she had that baby. In addition to being a child physically, she had the mind of a child. Am sure you are wondering why she killed the child?
There is nothing i find disruptive and un-ladylike as visible panty lines. With that said, its definite that seamless undies are the way to go.

I recently watched a Wedding proposal on YouTube that took my breath away, simply for the sheer creativity… this guy decides to actually hire a movie theatre hall to air the ‘movie’ (home-made of course) that he’s shot, proposing to his girlfriend. The thing is, she is actually been taken to that precise movie theatre to watch…a regular movie. Clueless….
It’s horrifying how families are under attack… daily!! Its now out there for all to partake of… The headlines scream of yet another brutal battering…and this time, neither the high and mighty nor the lowly are spared. The base actions of anger expressed are well evident; high level delegate batters wife, man kills family then strangles himself, man takes poison after domestic quarrel.
Secondly, he faces all this pressure from all corners of life - from his workplace, then comes home to find an angry she-male…hands akimbo, addressing the present pressing issue right from the doorstep as he comes home; meanwhile, there’s also probably the ‘clande’ eyeing his wallet (for whats still to hit its warm leather interior) and its not even mid month yet. So he trudges home to no warm hugs, or acknowledgments or sweetsmelling aroma of food cooking on the kitchen stove to welcome this hungry and distressed warrior home. No consideration for the fact that the day started horrendously, his boss was a jerk, not to mention the debts hanging over his head (the settling of which was a migraine scenario pushed to the back-burner). With all this overwhelming stress, how is he supposed to still be that caring, conscientious, romantic man we have concocted (and are now deeply disapointed in) because he doesnt measure up to the man we believed would rescue us from a mundane existence?
I few of us have been bitten by the bug, not once not twice, severally its a sure sign that you need financial 911. I listened on radio the other day a financial consultant speak about the dangers of taking an advance on your salary, for the regulars at the HR office come 16th of each month this one is for you and for those who need to know why its a bad idea to take the advance, this one is for you too.

I think I expected that everyone who dreams of being a doctor will be a doctor or will at least never change their mind. I know, life is dynamic. It’s like I always have to remind myself that.
Your purpose, when you find it, might lead you down an unlikely path. Wangari Maathai comes to mind, her purpose at the time was saving trees and conserving the environment for a better tomorrow. Was it glamorous? Not really, especially when she was fighting for the environment and leading protests to conserve our natural forests. Did it give her fulfillment though? Yes, I’m sure it did. The satisfaction that she was doing her part in the world and in the greater scheme of things was making a difference must have been great.
Well, when you move to a more formal professional service company, you realise you have to step up your wardrobe. Its not that you have a bad wardrobe, mismatched clothes or tired clothes, its that perhaps you haven’t worked in such a formal organisation before so your was abit of a newbie with the suits. So my first question to you before you read any further is, ‘what’s your work dressing style saying about you?’

I just love how they look, period. I’d never want to date them because it would never work out, distance and such…ahem…Now, the people I have previously dated never followed in that vein. They were ‘ordinary’ men who I clicked with on a real level. To date I care very little about how rich a guy is, but it does help if he is well endowed *wink wink* and we must have the ability to comfortably have a conversation over the phone. [P.S I think that is the real test, especially in the early days when you’re not so sure about a guy]
Another thing I’ve neglected to mention is that he’s a white guy. Is this important in the general scheme of things? Perhaps. See, I really, really, really love my African brothers but I have huge crushes on white guys like McSteamy (who wouldn’t?). Thing is, I have never meet McSteamy types let alone strike up a conversation with my Caucasian brothers. We just never cross paths! So here I am talking and flirting, a little, with this gorgeous man and dayum I’m really surprised! Kumbe si wabaya?

Recently I’ve been getting hit on by the watchman at work. I try to remain friendly, after all, I could need his help one day, but it reminds me of when I was younger, and thought I was doomed to be hit on by sketchy types all my life. I wrote the following during that time. Thankfully, my prospects have greatly improved, but I’m always wary of this trend resurfacing. What do you think affects the type of people who hit on you? I guess the main reason I say this is because it can at times be challenging when you are trying to make your career work in your favour and the opposite seems to be happening. I’ve always loved being around men to be honest. Rough or polished I am at ease with many and of course through the years I’ve had all sorts stay, come in and out of my life.
White colour has always been used to symbolise, new, pure, unadulterated, clean etc. On the other hand, brown colour has always been used to signify, dirt, contamination, unclean etc.
It is regarded as the cheapest thing in the world. It is an all-time additive in food. It is used world-wide. If it is missing in food, food is rejected. Unfortunately, it is a killer. What is it?
Michelle and I met in college. It had been a girl’s night out and we accidentally bumped into each other in the little girls’ room. She looked miserable and her eyes were puffy and teary like she had been crying. Having such a humble soul, I comforted her and she explained to me that her girlfriends had just ditched her and had left with their ‘hook ups’ from the club. I knew how it felt to be in a club all alone when the clique you had supposedly come with ditch you. I asked her to come and join a group I had come with for the night and she was reluctant to join us but later agreed.
My relationship with the “one” went on for a long time and we cleared campus, he went on to be an intern and we met ever so often. One afternoon I got a call from Michelle and her husband asking us if we could join them for a camp, which was an offer we could not refuse, and went on to join them. We had a fun time together hiking and just watching the sun set. Alongside us was a beautiful gorgeous lady who had come camping alone, we all pitied her and asked her to join us and that is how we met Sandra. A lonely, skinny looking girl with bad hair at that time. She looked lost, humble and naive when we met her .She had just run away from home because her parents did not approve of her behavior. She was fun to be with and then in an instant we all became fast friends.
There are claims and counter-claims that cooking vegetables in a microwave oven zaps all the nutrients and renders vegetables worthless. Does microwave oven really kill nutrients?
It is also advisable not to add any water to vegetables during microwave cooking. If water has to be added, it should be very little. Combination of fast heating and water-free cooking is the reason for minimal loss of nutrients in a microwave oven. A research carried out in Cornell University, USA, one the world’s respected University for Food Science and Nutrition found out that spinach cooked in a microwave retained nearly all its vitamin B-complex but lost about 77% when cooked on a stove in presence of water.
For me this lasted around one week. Yep, just a week. I realized I have an unbelievable capacity to recover from huge heart breaks. Plus the escalating stench from kicked around socks, unwashed dishes, overflowing dustbins and unchanged beddings hastened the process.

To me it seemed the most traumatizing experience I would ever face. But I guess I was simply being rather dramatic as a woman. Most of my friends who I told I had been retrenched almost didn’t look moved. Yes they were apologetic, but not moved to the extent that I would have liked them to be. The earth was shattering in my world but all I got was “eeeisssh, you’ll get another job, relax” Retrenchment has happened to many Kenyans in the work place, but the worst kind is where you are given no notice and you absolutely do not see it coming your way. That’s the kind I experienced, right at the beginning of December, the festive month! All I could muster in my mind was “Are they for real, ama I’m dreaming?” Oh they were for real alright.
Fast forward to present time – still an apple. The apple shape is top heavy … you know the generous boobs, equally generous midriff, slender hips and legs and pseudo waistline. I wistfully look at my pear friends – their voluptuous curves, their waistlines and wonder if I should get a butt job. Shift the belly fat to my butt. You know use what’s so readily available! To be an apple in Africa is not easy. The guys love the curves.
I believe in love, I have to. Being a bachelor and all hoping that one day I will settle down with a drop dead gorgeous spinster I have to believe in love. What worries about it are the non-believers. The love atheists acquire it on some stage in life. This is after they have believed in love all along; they wake up one day maybe on the wrong foot and decide their love beliefs are gone. They proceed to say love is over rated and stupid. Only fools fall in love.
Taking care of a cat in Nairobi is fairly difficult. Aside from the usual feeding and petting, you have to find a place for it to ‘make pee-pee and poo-poo’. You have to get used to having fur all over your clothes, furniture and sometimes in your nostrils! But on the up side, you have a faithful little friend who is always eager to cuddle up with you, listen to your woes, and whose purr can be interpreted as ‘ehe/nkt/wacha jokes/yeye ni fala” etc.
Other than those romantic candle lit dinners which I thought she wasn’t worth of them anyway, I had to walk around town holding her hand. That is P.D.A [public display of affection]. It is not really African to do that. The only people who are allowed to do it are teen love amateurs and newlyweds. I was just too busy for that and I could not do it no matter how hard she pressurized me. I had to create time for her in my busy schedule each and every day. That is like being a prisoner to her. Squeezing myself to fit in to her plans is just unrealistic. Other than dating her, mine was a whole lot different life from hers. I have to do what any normal man got to do, have my occasional weekends alone and later go to watch a football game with the boys. Sitting curled up in a couch the whole day whispering sweet nothings and watching a movie was just not my thing. That is what she suggested I be doing on weekends and it is just not manly.
There are many types of swimsuits in the market, and some will flatter your shape better than others will. Despite the many styles, the bathing suit will be either a one piece or a two-piece swimsuit. Cut, design, print, and fabric, will all play together to either enhance your shape or not. If you choose swimwear according to your body type, you have a better chance of liking the fit and how it enhances your shape.
This has been one of my guiding phrases. I love it because it focuses the conundrum of love on you and not ‘those others’. Here’s the thought process: all your partners – former and current – have only one thing in common: you! You are the common denominator so if you are always attracting or attracted to a particular kind of person, then it’s up to you to explore if there is something in you that is similar to those characteristics that always appear in your love life.
Furthermore, if you keep doing the same thing when it comes to love, then it stands to reason that you’ll keep getting the same results. Now is as good a time as any to try something different. Tweak something, change something and see if that changes your love patterns.
I noticed that he was not in his usual mood. I did not even go far; I sat down on the sofa and beckoned him to go on. We had been married for long and my husband avoided arguments like the plague, but knowing him, I could feel one brewing (like in cartoons when their faces turn pink and steam comes out of their heads).
In the time I had talked to Michelle she was very quiet about it. I was not sure what she was thinking. Finally she spoke, “I have known all along and it has been a secret that I have been keeping and I did not want to bother you with it. You know that I don’t like when people are up in my business.” I could not believe it. I mean how in the world were we friends if we could not talk? For a moment I felt so stupid for thinking that all this time I was doing an honorable thing for her and yet she actually knew it. Michelle noticed the look on my face and knew that I was mad and said, “Hey what do you say we bank that cheque and go shopping?” I looked at her with a grin on my face and said nothing. I feigned tiredness and drove her home and was back to my house.
I can recall with horror how in high school a friend of mine hooked me up with her brother. Gulp. First of all turning down the offer is a slap in her face because I was basically rejecting her and her kin. Secondly I knew a little about the guy and although he seemed nice he’d never struck me as someone interesting to chat with. Thirdly the friend wasn’t exactly a laid-back let-them-be sort of person. Nope. She was heavily invested in our ‘union’. Lord have mercy! So we met on our ‘date’ during a sports event at the school and I wanted to die. He was shy and awkward. Apparently the guy had liked me for a long time and had asked his sister to set things up. I remember I was pissed because my friend was putting pressure on me and I was supposed to fall into line and start liking him back regardless of the fact that we had nothing in common. We just stood there. Stood for what could have been 20 minutes conversing with the grass and watching a game nearby. Argh.
It isn’t very many people who consider the importance of branding to their daily lives. Branding is not just for you to know what best product to pick from the supermarket shelves; it actually follows you wherever you go. Irrespective of what personality you make think you have, you have a brand. People make perceptions of you within a couple of minutes of meeting, they look at what you are wearing, the way you talk and above all the way you carry yourself. At your work place, with your friends, with your customers or simply when sitting on the bus to work, you as an individual have a brand. Brand yourself!
Sadly, these brands are either new to the market and therefore trying to survive just to make it to the not too known brands or they just lack motivation to do much more than what they are currently doing a.k.a they couldn’t give a hoot they are comfortable. In this day and age it’s important to portray yourself in exactly the same way you want people to perceive you whether it’s in the way you dress, your decorum or even your speech.
I am writing this letter regarding the matter of Kenya’s 6 most wanted criminals by the ICC. I would love to say that I’m writing on behalf of all Kenyans but alas, I wouldn’t want to presume. I feel that a letter is necessary because things seem to be getting worse and not better. I was concerned when I saw the 6 alleged murderers and rapists working very hard to avoid prosecution. I was concerned, but not enough to write to you. However, many weeks after your announcement, I am positively worried and losing sleep about it. I am worried sick that your once strong resolve to prosecute these alleged criminals to the fullest extent of international law – in accordance with the treaty that Kenya willingly signed – is weakening.
I do not date my friends. I keep them in a box, cage, vacuum…whatever. I’m fairly social and I enjoy the company of the opposite sex very much. But I do not date my friends…Male or female. There’s a reason they have been marked as ‘friendlies’ they’ve been deemed harmless, functional and truly ‘friends for all occasions’. I have my ‘surrogate boyfriend-friend’. He’s in a committed relationship and yet he treats me like his girlfriend. No hanky-panky, just lovey-dovey. He takes me to lunch, movies, buys me chocolates and listens to my woes. He can read me like a book. I’m his plus-one whenever his girlfriend can’t attend something with him. We talk about his relationship with her all the time. In fact his girl and I are friends. Thing is, neither of us wants to date the other. We don’t want to have an affair. We just want to have companionship without the baggage of a formal relationship.
At 21 I gifted my virginity to my first proper proper boyfriend. Oh the thrill of young love; so urgent, so low maintenance and in my case so doomed. It turned out that this love of my life was dating my best friends plus more. Internet didn’t even exist then but wow, what a social networker! I called it quits and he, believe it or not, told me that not only was I overreacting but it was just as well we were breaking up because his friends considered me a difficult woman. I asked what they meant by difficult and was informed that I was an “Oprah watching, Cosmo reading feminist who did not know my place” a.k.a difficult woman.
And how does this dreams thing work anyway? I thought that dreams filter from the sub-conscious meaning that if someone came and said to you that they saw you for the first time and you were the person of their dreams would that be an oxymoron?
If you’re starting at zero, I’ve learned two basic strategies. My first, kinda lame, strategy is to always go for clothes that are near the outside edge of the market and are on hangers. This is as opposed to the “chagua” piles. They are more expensive, because the sellers know well what’s in at the moment. I’ve done fairly well using this technique, and there’s the added bonus of knowing that the resellers choose clothes that are in fairly good repair, and many launder and press them.

Happy New Year! I hope the year continues to unfold with the same optimistic energy it seemed to begin with. As per kawa, many people had New Year’s resolutions all made out. I thought I’d wait about 2 weeks before checking in to see how ya’ll were doing. So….how are you doing with those resolutions? Well, if I’m gonna ask you for info then the least I can do is give you some myself so here goes.
There is nothing like a little quiet time to gain perspective. To sit quietly with one’s thoughts often filters out the noise and the ‘noise’ all around you until like carefully kneaded bread dough in an oven, clear thoughts rise at the appropriate time.

Aloha my dear readers. Allow me to apologize for my brief absence from this lovely blog. Did you miss me? I sure did miss sharing my life’s drama with strangers. Why I choose to put my private life into the public domain I still don’t know. Sometimes I think it’s my subconscious innate desire for screaming from the roof top, “F*@k My Love Life!!!” Well, I can’t do that. Not only would it rub off badly with my neighbors, but the after taste of making a fool of myself in public doesn’t sound alluring at all. I have shouted from the top of a roof before though. I was half drunk. Maybe three quarters drunk. It was the girls’ hostel in campus. Up to date, I still don’t know how I got on to that roof. They had to get a ladder to help me down.
I’M SINGLE AGAIN. I hate being single!! Having someone to call at 2 am in the morning to share some weird midnight craving for chocolate cake, without running the risk of being called many regrettable names, is something of a necessity for me. I strongly believe that every human needs a soul mate. Be it that girl at the next desk in kindergarten who keeps tickling you, or the really beautiful teacher in class five for whom you have a crazy crush, and who always finds a reason to come over to your desk and help you out with math (in memory of Ms. Bella, God rest her soul) , or that high school sweet heart with whom you exchange highly vocabularised letters on a weekly basis, or the more familiar ground with Vicky from HR, with whom you do everything the company rules say you shouldn’t do within the premises, a soul mate completes you.
Evil, that’s what I think it is. You spend your hard-earned holiday bonus cash shopping unnecessarily to ‘win’. I hardly ever hear any of my friends or family have won anything. The winners are always people we’ve never heard of. The world is round and small, I mean, really, shouldn’t some of the lucky winners at least be people we know?
Guys are slow. They don’t often fall in love at first sight. Lust, maybe, but not love. The average guy takes six months to really like a girl, while women fall head over heels in six minutes. Well, sometimes. The point is, a girl falls for a guy way faster than a guy falls for a girl.
The other day I happened to be invited for workshop by one of my superiors. I was called as a “last minute by the way you are also meant to attend this one,” and I hurriedly picked my stuff and made it to the lift in time. The workshop was interesting and I got to learn a lot of operational stuff that I had no clue about, yes I stayed awake and it paid off.
Christmas Eve was Friday and we as a family had decided that we would spend the night at Michelle’s house. My husband was not so up to the idea and I really had a hard time convincing him that it would do us and the kids a great deal to just bond with our friends and the season was a great way to do so. My husband had been working so hard in the year and he really deserved a well earned break and what better way but with our friends whom we had known for so long (and Sandra of course, how can I forget that).
I am an avid journal writer and my collection of “works” goes back to when I was 13. Keeping in mind that I will be 39 this year you can imagine how much incriminating material that is. And while so much has changed, so much has not.
Another new year and as always I am in a reflective mood. My achievements for 2010? Just a few. Did I achieve my New Year resolutions? I have no idea because I have never had them simply because I forget them soon as the first day of the year end so I decided never to bother with them instead I have goals, well written in my head.
When we arrived at Michelle’s we all hugged and the kids went out to play, the adults stayed in the house and being close to Michelle I went to help her with setting the table. So ‘our’ friend and our husbands went to the dining room to chat. My husband has never been a talker, so he decided to go to the garden to check on the kids.
