PesaDroid works by analyzing and extracting information froman M-PESA message in your sms inbox. The App scans your inbox for M-PESAtransaction notifications to retrieve, sort and store them on a database onyour phone.The app comes in two versions; free and premium version. Thepremium version of PesaDroid enables you to forward the notifications to youremail.PesaDroid stands benefit micro-entrepreneurs in Kenya inkeeping records of transactions with their customers. However, most of thesesmall scale entrepreneurs do not own smart phones. PesaDroid is a great app butit might take quite some time before it gets many users.
Much is now written about M-PESA on its business model and extent of its use at the household and community levels. M-PESA is an agentassisted, mobile phone-based, person-to-person payment and money transfer system in Kenya. It allows users to store money on their mobile phones in an electronic account and deposit or withdraw money in the form of hard currency at one of M-PESA's numerous agent locations. By March 2011, M-PESA reached over 13.8 million registered users (over one-third of Kenya's population) through 27,000 M-PESA agents throughout the country. Safaricom has also built a low-cost payment platform in M-PESA which is allowing users to meet an ever-broader array of their payment and savings needs.
The revolution of mobile money transfer has created a platform that can afford convenience and flexibility amongst consumers through various money transactions. At the same time the rapid growth in technology worldwide has also contributed to the efficiency in terms of information dissemination.
Innscor Africa, the holding group company for Galitos, Chicken Inn, Pizza Inn, and Creamy Inn has partnered with Safaricom to offer M-PESA payment option for their customers. Innscor customers will now be able to pay their bill at all Innscor outlets using M-PESA, both at the tills and for home deliveries.
British Airways customers can now pay for their tickets and ticket changes in Kenya through M-PESA.

Working with the mobile telephone provider Safaricom, Crown Agents Kenya Limited has successfully installed M-PESA, a money transfer system, in the Crown Agents office in Kenya. Crown Agents Bank transferred money into the Safaricom bank account and auditors acting as M-PESA agents were able to draw money out at retail outlets using their mobile phones.![]() |

Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) is now M-PESA compliant following a successful introduction of the M-PESA services after the signing of agreement with mobile phone service provider Safaricom Ltd. Through M-PESA business number 553400, clients can now pay for KNH medical bills using M-PESA.

The most promising way for charities to raise money right now is by M-PESA. There has never been a better time to start an M-PESA fund raising campaign. The numbers speak for themselves: The Kenyans for Kenya fund raising initiative raised sh 13 million via M-PESA within 24 hours of launch of the appeal,and the number continues to rise.
