At least 500 households around the Ruiru, Membley bridge have been submerged by floods after water levels from a local river rose and broke its banks, slowing down business and transport activities in the area. This comes even as one person was rescued at the Thika superhighway after his vehicle was swept by floods which had severed a section of the highway at Kahawa Sukari area, following last evening’s heavy downpour.
