Correctional services Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni has called on the Judiciary to fast-track criminal cases pending in court as a way of easing pressure on prison facilities which are already congested. The PS decried the amount of resources government is spending on inmates with nearly half of them being remandees whose cases are yet to be determined. PS Muthoni spoke during a Sunday service at the Kamiti Maximum prison.
