The Egg Traders Association of Kenya is threatening to file for contempt of court proceedings against the Kenya Revenue Authority for effecting a 25% excise duty on eggs. The Association's Chair Julius Masinde says the move is not only against the trade protocols in the East African Community but likely to spell doom for thousands of traders who benefit directly from the business.
