The Kenya red cross is warning of a possible humanitarian crisis with 30,000 households in 26 high risk counties likely to be displaced as heavy rains continue to pound across the country. The humanitarian organization has also issued an alert to residents living around Masinga and Kiambere dams which are at risk of spilling over after the water levels exceeded their limits. This comes as several rivers in Nairobi, Machakos and Kajiado County burst their banks causing major flooding in residential estates, loss of lives and livestock, infrastructure destruction, and displaced 10,144 households.
