Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been cleared to vie for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat. While making the ruling a three judge bench sitting at the Mombasa high court , directed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to gazette Sonkos name as a candidate in the race. Through his lawyer Jared Magolo , Sonko argued that the move by the electoral body to bar him was improper, unprocedural and unlawful.
