Azimio leader Raila Odinga condemned police brutality in specific regions where anti- government protests took place.
He said rogue police officers and hired gangs have been terrorizing and using excessive force on demonstrators in specific region in Western Kenya.
While Ruto's administration has lauded the police for ensuring there is security and protecting people's properties especially during demonstration, Raila on the other hand raised alarm about extra judicial killing and the use of excessive force. He added that officers committing such atrocities ought to be called out and brought to justice as such violence on people is unwarranted.
The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, an independent watchdog created by parliament on 24th July, Tuesday said they are disheartened and troubled by the recent events during the anti-government protests by both the boys in blue and the demonstrators.
