COVID-19 funds allocated to Nakuru County have become a game changer for the health sector long after the pandemic. Nakuru level 5 hospital established the largest oxygen plant in sub-Saharan Africa, capable of producing 2,000 litres of oxygen per minute, and has seen death cases related to respiratory complications decline. This among other major projects, has improved the sector. however, oversight bodies including the Office of the Auditor General and the Centre for enhancing democracy and Governance, have continued to raise concerns over the expenditure of kshs 602 million allocated for the COVID fund.
