The authorities in Tanzania have declared a curfew in the commercial capital, Dar es Salaam, after a tense election day. Several people have been injured in clashes between protesters and police, and internet access severely restricted. Tanzania’s chief of police, Camelius Wambura, said the curfew would continue until further notice. The move follows a day of unrest in Dar es Salaam and other towns across the country where demonstrators clashed with police, blocked roads and set vehicles ablaze.
