KNEC mourns examiner who died during KJSEA marking exercise

    The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the death of an examiner who passed away during a marking exercise in Makueni County. In a statement dated November 24 and released on November 25, 2025, KNEC confirmed that the examiner, Mr. Nicodemus Mutua Mutuku, died on Monday while overseeing the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) marking exercise at Machakos Girls’ High School, where he served as a team leader for the Creative Arts and Sports paper. The council expressed deep sorrow, noting that he had been diligently executing his duties since the marking exercise began on November 7, 2025.
