Property worth millions destroyed near Nyayo stadium

Kiambu county governor Kimani Wamatangi has described the demolition of his property worth millions of shillings near Nyayo national stadium as a political witch hunt. The midnight operation, conducted under heavy police presence, saw excavators and bulldozers flatten a car yard, a restaurant, a car wash, and several vehicles. Wamatangi has condemned the exercise, saying he has legally leased the land from Kenya railways for over two decades and has consistently paid rent. The governor maintains that no formal notice was issued prior to the demolition and has challenged authorities to produce any written eviction orders, if they exist.
