Rice farmers in Kisumu lose millions as birds destroy 94 acres of crops

Rice farmers from the West Kano irrigation scheme in Kisumu are counting losses running in to millions of shillings following the invasion of birds on their farms. The farmers say a total of 94 acres of rice has been destroyed over the last one week, as swarms of birds descended on their farms.
