Senate PAC calls for strong, independent county auditors to enforce accountability

According to the 2024–2025 Auditor-General’s report, many counties have failed to meet their own-source revenue targets and continue to struggle with high wage bills. The Office of the Auditor-General also called for increased funding to expand audit coverage, including emerging areas such as climate change and national crisis response, to strengthen accountability.
