Retiring Kiraitu Murungi questions state of democracy, announces new book

The former senator and Cabinet minister said his long career in government exposed him to how power is often exercised behind the scenes, making democratic processes more of a ritual than a genuine reflection of the people’s will. He added that the book will offer a candid reflection on his experiences in politics and challenge citizens and leaders alike to rethink what true democracy should look like.
