The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Nairobi branch has challenged the teachers service commission (TSC) over what it terms as the return of the delocalization policy through the back door, despite the government having abolished it. The union condemned the recent transfers of teachers from Nairobi to Kitui and other regions, calling the move punitive, discriminatory, and a direct threat to family unity and the mental well-being of affected educators. Knut accused TSC of experimenting with Nairobi teachers, arguing that uprooting them after decades of service in the capital is both unfair and inhumane. The union warned that delocalizing teachers during the crucial examination term would compromise learner performance. They have demanded that tsc immediately revoke the transfer and promotion letters.
