Stakeholders in Garissa are calling for stronger measures to shield girls from child marriage, female genital mutilation, sexual abuse and human trafficking. During celebrations to mark the International Day of the Girl Child at UmmulKheir Girls Junior and Primary School, the stakeholders raised concern over inadequate rescue facilities, underreporting of abuse and harmful cultural practices that continue to threaten girls’ safety.
