High court freezes bank accounts of governor Wamatangi

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has suffered yet another setback after the High Court issued orders freezing bank accounts belonging to him, his wife, and his children. The court orders also extend to accounts held by ten other individuals in connection with a separate Sh813 million corruption case. The freeze follows an application by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), which is investigating allegations of corruption and unexplained wealth linked to the funds in question. The orders will remain in force pending the hearing and determination of the EACC’s application. This comes a day after his multi million property sitting at the Railways land near Nyayo Stadium was demolished.
