India has donated over 11 tonnes of medical supplies and specialised equipment to strengthen Kenya’s Ebola preparedness. The consignment includes protective gear for health workers, biosafety equipment for laboratories and cold-chain refrigerators, expected to boost Kenyas’ efforts and strengthen its capacity to detect and respond to infectious disease threats. The assistance comes amid renewed calls by health experts for stronger surveillance, infection prevention and protection of frontline health workers in the fight against Ebola disease.
