Juja mother delivers quintuplets naturally at Thika Level 5 Hospital

A family in Juja is celebrating a rare medical feat after Mercy Kanini safely delivered quintuplets at Thika Level 5 Hospital. The five babies were delivered through normal delivery, a rare occurrence in multiple births of this scale, which are often delivered through Caesarean section. Mercy had attended regular antenatal clinics and expected to deliver four babies. Due to the high-risk pregnancy, doctors initially prepared her for a Caesarean section. However, a final assessment established that she could safely proceed with a normal delivery. One by one, four babies were delivered safely before healthcare workers were stunned by the arrival of a fifth baby. Both Mercy and her five newborns are currently in stable condition.
