Over 38 families left homeless in Watamu land dispute with tycoon

Over 38 families at Jacaranda, in Watamu, Kilifi County have been left homeless after their residential areas were allegedly demolished early on Monday morning over a land dispute with a tycoon. The residents claim that the tycoon, protected by police and armed hired goons, descended on their houses at 4 am demolishing them without any notice. The residents who claim that that was not the first time their property has been demolished, are now appealing to the government to intervene and help them acquire their land ownership documents.
