President William Ruto has ordered the cancellation of a procurement process expected to hand control of the country's main airport and key electricity transmission lines to India's Adani Group following the indictment of the company's founder in the United States. Addressing the state from parliament, the President attributed the decision to cancel the 95 billion shillings deal between KETRACo and Adani to the indictment of Gautam Adani by US prosecutors. Earlier Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi while appearing before the Senate Energy Committee had vowed the deal would go on despite the revelations in the United States.
