Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana has withdrawn the Religious Organisations Bill that seeks to regulate religious groups. The proposed bill aimed at curbing extremism and addressing the challenges posed by unregulated religious organizations had gone through the first reading in parliament. Mungatana says the withdrawal will allow for further consensus building among stakeholders. Elsewhere, the PCEA church has accused the government of resorting to intimidation tactics to gag the church from calling out ITs excesses.
