In the past two weeks, President William Ruto has mainly toured ODM strongholds in what is now being seen as an attempt to rally the Nyanza and Coast regions behind him in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Ruto has been to Kisumu, which is former ODM leader Raila Odinga's backyard, Taita Taveta, and Kilifi, and the only times he has not been in either Nyanza or Coast, the president has been in Kajiado and Machakos, which have also overwhelmingly supported Raila in the past.
