Uwekezaji katika teknolojia unahitajika kuweza kuzuia upotoshaji, uongo
Pamoja na kuenea kwa taarifa za uongo kwenye mitandao ya kijamii, Armando Nhantumbo mwandishi wa habari wa Msumbiji wa Taasisi ya Vyombo vya Habari Kusini mwa Afrika (MISA) anasema uwekezaji katika teknolojia unahitajika kwenye vyumba vya habari kuelekeza wanahabari jinsi ya kukabiliana na upotoshaji pamoja na habari za uongo.
(Armando Nhantumbo wa Media Institute of Southern Africa anaeleza:
“Shukrani kwa teknolojia, tunapata taarifa zaidi, na tunaweza kushiriki zaidi na zaidi katika masuala ya utawala ambayo ilikuwa ngumu miaka 30 iliyopita. Kinachotokea ni pamoja na faida hizi, lakini kuna hasara pia. Mojawapo ya ubaya ni kutoijua habari.”
MISA Msumbiji inatoa huduma za kuangalia ukweli na kutoa mafunzo kwa waandishi wa habari, Nhantumbo anasema.
Armando Nhantumbo, Media Institute of Southern Africa anasema:
“Kuna vyombo vya kidijitali vinavyotusaidia kufanya hili na sisi MISA Msumbiji tumekuwa tukiandaa mafunzo kwa wanafunzi wa uandishi wa habari, waandishi wa habari na mashirika ya kiraia juu ya jinsi ya kutumia majukwaa haya.”
Kwa vile jamii inategemea zaidi mitandao ya kijamii kwa habari, watetezi wa vyombo vya habari wanasema kazi kama ya Evidencias na MISA Msumbiji itakuwa chombo chenye nguvu katika kuhabarisha umma kwa usahihi na uwazi.
