President William Ruto steered clear of the abduction rage in the country and instead directed that 13 schools that had been closed due to insecurity on the border of Elgeyo Marakwet, west Pokot and Baringo to be reopened. The yet to be reopened schools are largely in west Pokot and they were closed after parents moved away due to insecurity occasioned by banditry in the northern part of the country. The president directed security agencies to boost security in the region as schools re-open on Monday.
