Governors dismiss bursary ban issued by COB

The Council of Governors has threatened to move to court to challenge the directive from the Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o barring county governments from administering bursaries on grounds that it is the mandate of the national government. Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki has termed Nyakango’s directive ill-informed, questioning its timing since she had already approved the county budgets which included allocations for bursaries
