Ruto lifts logging ban to revive timber industry, unveils plan to extend Nairobi–Malaba highway

President William Ruto has lifted the ban on logging in all public forests across the country to allow for harvesting of mature trees. The move, Ruto says will revive the timber industry, create jobs, and end importation of furniture to boost local manufacturing.
