A Kajiado court has postponed the hearing of a land rate case pitting the Kajiado County government and the freehold land owners in the region. The case was last heard in December 2024, when the court issued temporary conservatory orders against the county government. The county had proposed that freehold commercial landowners in certain zoned areas pay an annual rate of 5,000 shillings, while those with residential multi-dwelling land would be required to pay 2,500 shillings. However, Environment and Land Court Judge Justice Loise Kamingoi postponed the hearing to Wednesday 12th March 2025, citing a full court calendar.
