The Kenya Meteorological Department is warning farmers in some parts of the country to brace for the long rains season earlier than anticipated. The weatherman is attributing the start of early rains to an atmospheric event dubbed the ‘Madden Julianne Oscillation’ phenomena. Further, the metrological department is warning of warmer temperatures across the country during the rainy season and flash floods in poorly drained urban centres.
