Bodaboda Safety Association of Kenya has threatened to issue a national strike on Tuesday next week if the motorcycle regulation bill 2023 sponsored by Senator Boni Khalalwe is not withdrawn. The Association Chair Kelvin Mubadi says there was no public participation in the formulation of the bill, which he argues directly impacts the livelihoods of thousands of bodaboda riders across the country. He has called for dialogue and a more inclusive approach to policymaking, urging Senator Khalwale to withdraw the bill and engage in meaningful consultations with all relevant stakeholders
