A land dispute in Malindi, Kilifi County turned tragic after one person was shot dead, while a middle-aged woman sustained gunshot wounds and is currently receiving treatment at Malindi Sub-County Hospital. Several others were injured in the violent clash that erupted over the ownership of a three-and-a-half piece of land in Kijiwa, along the Mombasa-Malindi Highway. The confrontation began when a group of armed youths stormed a construction site, attacking workers who were building a perimeter wall. The attackers vandalized tools and demolished parts of the wall, escalating tensions between rival factions. The body of the deceased was moved to the Star Hospital mortuary in Malindi town as authorities launched an investigation into the incident.
