Grassroot supervisors of the Inua Jamii programme have been challenged to ensure all elderly persons register to get their monthly stipends. Speaking in Meru, Chief disabilities Officer Godana Boru hailed the new changes on mode of payment to beneficiaries which he says will enhance transparency and efficiency. Over 1.7 million Kenyans are currently under the programme with some advocating on the government to increase the amount owing to the increase in the cost of living.
