KenGen nearly doubles tax profits last year

The Kenya Electricity Generating Company, KenGen, has defied a decline in revenues to post a strong financial performance for the year ended June 30th, 2025. The power producer’s profit after tax jumped by 54 percent to 10.4 billion shillings, driven by aggressive cost-cutting measures, foreign exchange gains, and improved operational efficiency.
