At least 21 people dead in Elgeyo Marakwet mudslides

The death toll from the Chesongoch mudslide tragedy in Elgeyo Marakwet county has risen to twenty one with at least thirty people missing as rescue operations continue in the flood-ravaged Kerio valley. The mudslide has left roads impassable, forcing rescuers to deploy helicopters for evacuations and aid delivery. As Emily Chebet reports, nearly thirty survivors have been airlifted to the Moi teaching and referral hospital in Eldoret with varying degrees of injuries.
