Rescue efforts ongoing after deadly landslides in Elgeyo Marakwet

The government has intensified the search for missing persons following a deadly landslide in Marakwet East, Elgeyo Marakwet County that claimed the lives of 22 people so far. This as search for 29 people believed to be still trapped under the mud continues. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has Condoled with the familes that lost their loved ones and urged locals to adhere to the advisory to move to safer grounds to avert further loss. The CS further commended the multi-sectoral collaboration in the rescue and relief efforts .
