Education CS Ogamba urges lecturers to accept phased payments

Education cabinet secretary Julius Ogamba is appealing to striking university lecturers and staff, to accept the government's proposed phased payment plan, for the 2017-2021 collective bargaining agreement arrears. Speaking in Mombasa, during the conclusion of the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions national championship, CS Ogamba said the government has demonstrated the goodwill to settle the KSh 7.7 billion dispute, and urged striking lecturers to resume work. At the same time, the cs dismissed calls for his resignation, saying the CBA was signed in 2017 when the current administration was not in office.
