A new report by human rights organizations has revealed there was a 450% increase in the number of enforced disappearances last year. The country witnessed a record number of abductions and killings linked to police officers, with young men being the most targeted. To date, victims and their families have not received justice. The independent policing oversight authority (IPOA) says it has investigated 60 cases, but the biggest obstacle remains the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). Former Chief Justice David Maraga is now calling on international partners to pressure the government to act.
