Road users using the Nairobi-Nakuru highway experienced a 12-hour traffic standstill that forced many of them to spend the night on the road. The traffic that started at around 6pm on Friday cleared at around 11am in the morning, however the cause hasn't been established since there's was no accident reported during the standstill. Following this incident most of the drivers and passengers have explained the loss they've incurred brought by the wasted time during the traffic delay and locals are calling on the government to speed up the plan to upgrade the nairobi nakuru highway to a dual carriageway as a way to reduce the traffic on that road. In the past similar happenings have been reported attributed partly to an increase in the number of road users and seasonal high traffic.
