The High Court has barred the Communications Authority, Safaricom, and Airtel Kenya from enforcing any internet shutdowns or disrupting digital communication. The ruling follows a petition by the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) – Kenyan Section, which cited the June 25, 2024 shutdown and warned of growing threats to internet freedom ahead of the 2027 elections.
