The Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospitals and Allied Workers (KUDHEIHA) is now calling for the immediate halt of the ongoing layoffs at Moi University. The union says the ongoing redundancy actions, which have affected 382 of their members, have been executed unilaterally, undermining the spirit of social dialogue and mutual respect that should guide labour relations within reputable public institutions.
The union has, however, expressed commitment to a constructive engagement with the University aimed at achieving a balanced and fair resolution.
