Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has threatened to release a list of health facilities involved in fraud under the former national health insurance scheme, NHIF. Duale spoke at the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the social health authority and the Aga Khan hospital to ensure that patients with kidney and heart conditions receive treatment funded by SHA. The health CS stated that no health facility or healthcare worker will be allowed to offer services to the public without complying with the required legal standards. Through this agreement, patients with kidney conditions will be covered up to Ksh 700,000 from SHA, while those with heart conditions will get up to Ksh 1.1 million. Any costs exceeding these amounts will be covered by the hospital.
