WETANG’ULA DEFIES COURT, ORDERS IEBC NOMINEE VETTING TO PROCEED

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has instructed the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee to continue vetting IEBC nominees, despite a High Court order halting their gazettement. He argued that Parliament is an independent arm of government and should not be hindered by court decisions from fulfilling its constitutional duties.
