The transition from the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) to the Competency-Based Education (CBE) in Kenya is still dogged confusion and uncertainty. While the government claims CBE is "the best education system in the world" and will unlock learners' potential, the lack of sufficient and on-time funding, insufficient stakeholder engagement, clear guidelines on selecting learning pathways and the delayed categorization of schools has caused anxiety among students, parents, and teachers.
