The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) may be forced to suspend some of its operations after being left out of the 2025/2026 budget presented yesterday by Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi. According to officials from the institution, the decision not to allocate research funding this year could cripple vital studies, and disease surveillance across the country.
