A police constable attached to the Special Police Intercept and Verification Unit was shot dead during a routine motorcycle inspection that turned violent. According to reports, the deceased, identified as Police Constable Bernard Koome and his colleagues had stopped a motorcycle that lacked the unique registration number for genuine boda boda operators in Thika town. However, the matter turned tragic after the rider refused to comply with police orders and shot the officer.
