Hundreds of residents in Waso ward, Samburu County have benefited from a one-week free eye check-up and eye surgeries. The event was organized by Health Yetu Foundation, a non-governmental organization, in partnership with the county government. According to the organizers the area is rampant with cataracts caused by the sun, smoke from firewood and dust, but can be cured when detected early.
