The country witnessed one of the most violent days of Gen Z protests, with some protesters turning their fury on police officers and government institutions. In Matuu, two protesters were shot dead and ten others hospitalized with gunshot wounds after attempting to storm a police station. In Kiambu, police stations and government offices were set ablaze, while in Nairobi, officers were attacked, with some seriously injured. One female officer suffered a brutal head injury in the chaos.
