The County Government of Kakamega has set aside parcels of land to establish three rehabilitation centres to help drug addicts and those battling mental illness.
The rehab centres will be located at Rostaman, Lumakanda, and Mumias Model Hospital.
County Secretary Dr. Lawrence Omuhaka said the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has already donated equipment to equip the rehabilitation centres once they are complete.
He noted that the county government has also employed enough psychiatrists who are on standby to provide the necessary support to mental health patients and those struggling with drug addiction.
