The Kenya National Union of Nurses and Midwives has suspended their strike, which was set for 7th July and issued a 30-day extension for dialogue following the appointment of a conciliator. Addressing the media in Nairobi, the union’s officials vowed to commence the strike on 3rd August 2025 if their issues are not fully addressed. Among the issues raised is the government’s failure to transition UHC workers to permanent and pensionable terms, failure to address the acute shortage of nurses, among others.
